Easy Spirit Freedom Walk for Education in Carson,
CA.
Last year, California Dollars for Scholars
distributed nearly $1.5 million in scholarships to more than 1,900
students. At the 5K walk in Carson on October eighteen,
approximately 250 walkers raised more than $40,000 for the
California Dollars for Scholars region and its chapters. A total of
18 California Dollars for Scholars chapters, including the Woodlake
High School Foundation chapter, came together for a common cause
well worth walking 5K for - education - on a clear, sunny and warm
autumn day, next to the new world-class soccer stadium that is part
of the Home Depot Complex. "Walkers" as young as eleven
months old up to grandparents stepped up to help California’s
students realize their higher educations dreams. Ana Carretero
participated in the walk and helped at the registration table. The
Woodlake chapter raised a total of $175.
