CSF membership for Spring 2012 is posted outside the office and Mrs. Lucatero's room - membership letters will be ready next week.

 

Attention all Students needing Community Service Hours.  FJ White is needing student volunteers to help run errands, answer phones, etc. every Saturday starting Feb. 11- March 31 from 8:30 - 1:30.  If interested see counseling to sign up

 

Seniors!!!!! ONLY 30 of you have not turned in your social security card into the Counseling office, so that they electronically submit your Cal Grant GPA Verification to the California State Aid Commission.  The deadline will be February 10th for you to get your Social Security card into counseling, or you will be left off the electronic submission, and will have to take care of it yourself!  You take care of the FAFSA application; counseling takes care of Cal Grant GPA Verification!

 

To all musicians, if you are interested in playing in our after school jazz band, please stop by the band room during lunch this Friday for our initial meeting.

 

 Attn Juniors only 8 students have signed up for the Woodlake SAT on MARCH 10th in Woodlake. There are a total of 100 seats, so sign up the deadline in February 10th .  You may qualify for fee waivers for both the ACT and SAT so pick up an application in counseling.

 

The Woodlake Chamber of Commerce is holding its 2nd City of Woodlake Queen contest.  This contest is open to all Junior Girls between the ages of 15-18 years old, who reside in the district and or attend Woodlake High School.  Don’t miss out on the opportunity to receive the grand prize of a $500 scholarship and recognition of representing the city of Woodlake at special events.  The application will be available in the front office with Christy and or stop by the Valley Tax Office here in town.

Deadline to turn in completed applications is April 1, 2012; however the sooner the better!  If interested to hear more information contact Lino or Linda Moran at 564-3963

There will be a winter Royalty dance tonight in the old gym. Cost is $5 w/ out asb and $3 w/ asb. Eligibility and Saturday school lists will be enforced :) Come have a night of fun dancing under the snowflakes as we celebrate our Winter Royalty!

 Come join Woodlake’s 2nd charity Zumbathon! 100% of the door fee will go back to WHS student body. Zumba feels like a party! You don’t even have to know how to dance. Just move your body and follow my lead. It’s easy! Come try it, I guarantee you will have a blast! It is Saturday February 4th from 10:00am to 12:00pm in the gym cost :$10.00 (Cash only) Must be 14years old or older.

 

SCICON Training WORKSHOP will be held on Friday, Feb. 3rd in the library during period 5.  If you would like to become a SCICON counselor, you must attend this workshop. This workshop will train you on the do and don’t of being a SCICON cabin counselor. Sign up in the counseling office. There will be space for only 20 students in grades 10-12th.

 

UCSF Fresno is accepting applications for Summer Biomedical Research Interns.  If you are a student interested in the biomedical sciences and wants to participate in basic and clinical research in the medical fields of surgery reconstruction, radiology, basic bench science and epidemiology.

 

Qualifications are that you must be at least 16 years old, currently enrolled as a junior in high school, have a 3.0 gpa or better and live in Tulare County.  There are additional application and program requirements.  If you are interested, see Mrs. Castillo.  The final deadline to turn in all paperwork is February 21st.
