Attention Students!  Ebooks are now in our library.  Go to our high school site and scroll down to Library on line.  Choose the high school library and create an account with Destiny, our library server.  Click on catalog and then on Destiny Discover to view and check out ebooks.  We have 165 ebooks to read!                                               

Attention Seniors: Orders for Cap, gown and graduation products will be accepted on Tuesday, February 20th during your lunch – A deposit or payment in full is required to place an order.


GradNite 2018 will be held at Disneyland. The trip is scheduled for Saturday May 5, 2018. The cost is $175.00 each: you must put a $50.00 deposit to save your seat. The total cost must be paid by March 15, 2018 WE MUST HAVE the second bus full BY February 16, 2018 or the second bus will be cancelled. Don’t wait put your deposit down now!

 NOTE: If you are creating an ACT or SAT account for the first time make sure to write down your username and password. Why? Because you will need it for your senior year, should you want to re-test again and many students do; to improve these college entrance exam scores.


Juniors: Please pick up a Fee Waiver application form in counseling to see if you qualify for ACT/SAT test fee waivers.  If you are paying for your own test, make sure that you register by or before the registration deadline; you do not want to pay extra for late registration fees.



If you would like to personalize your yearbook with your name or icon you may pick up a personalization form in the front office with Mari.

Community Service


Castle Rock Elementary School is in need of students to help them with their Color Run Event.  The event will take place on March 3rd from 8-12.  If interested please sign-up in Counseling to let us know you will be attending.  On March 3rd, show up at Castle Rock Elementary School by 7:30 am and let them know you are there from the High School to help for the event.




The new Camp Zap 2018 dates are scheduled for February 24-25, and May 19-20, 2018. Any high school may sign up but we are looking to send good role model students; who are willing to supervision children in grades 3, 4 & 5. You need to be willing to help the children have an enjoyable and great outdoors experience. Pick up a Camp Zap application in the counseling office. You may NOT drive your vehicle to Camp Zap, nor are you allowed to leave early.




The Tulare/Kings Co. Chapter of California Women for Agriculture will be awarding up to $5,000 this year in scholarships. Three different types of scholarships will be offered: Four-year University, junior college and four-year university continuing education. Applicants must have a minimum 3.4 GPA in high school and plan to major in an agricultural based major with clear aspirations in having a career in the agriculture industry. Pick up an application in counseling. Deadline April 15, 2018



SENIORS: The 2017-2018 CIF Central Section Scholar/Athlete of the Year Scholarship packet is now available.  Please follow all instructions in the packet and only use the forms that are in the packet.  Please turn in your completed application packet to either Mr. Rodriguez, Principal, in the Main Office or Aurora in the Counseling Office by FEB.  26th.

Application packets that are incomplete and/or use other forms will not be accepted.  No Exceptions!!!



To qualify, the applicant must be a graduating senior, with no less than a

3.50 Cumulative Grade Point Average, have participated in two varsity sports in the Central Section for at least two years and have a record of good citizenship.

 Candidates will be judged on:

(A)     Athletic Prowess-50%, (B) Academic Achievement-35%, (C) Community


 Each application must be accompanied by:

1)     The formal student application

2)     Letters of Recommendations and signatures of a coach, athletic

director, academic counselor, and principal or assistant principal.

3)     A recent transcript of grades

4)     The most recently calculated cumulative grade point average

5)     The standing of the student application in his/her class



Seniors the Tulare County School Boards Association 2018 Scholarship is now available. This $350 scholarship will be awarded to a senior at all

Tulare County high schools!   When you have completed this application,

you must return it to Aurora Medina in the Counseling Office. To fill out

and print a PDF version of this online, visit www.tcoe.org/TCSBAform.   If

you complete the application on paper, it must be legible, neat and completed in black ink. Good luck seniors! Deadline February 16, 2018.

Criteria for TCSBA:

- Cumulative GPA 2.75 or better

- Good Citizenship

- Participation on extracurricular activities Community involvement

- And will be attending an accredited college or university in the Fall of 2018.



Ruiz 4 Kids Scholarship is awarding seniors with 3.0 GPA that plan to attend a 4-year college/university, and seniors that are applying to a 2-year college or trade school that have a minimum 2.5 GPA.  The application must include: completed application, personal statement or essay, letter of recommendation, resume (that includes extracurricular activities school and community related, awards, and work experience. Application must include an official and sealed high school transcript. The online application is in a PDF format and the students can complete it online (click on Scholarship Applications), type your information, print it out and mail the completed application, along with required criteria. Student and parent signatures are required; incomplete applications will not be considered. Hand-written applications will not be accepted under any circumstances! Please read the directions carefully! Apply at: www.ruiz4kids.org. Postmark/Deadline March 9, 2018 (no exceptions).


The Tulare County Farm Bureau Scholarships application is now available to seniors. Apply online or on a paper application for the scholarships if (1) you the applicant will attend a 2-year or 4-year college or university. Applicant must apply to a two or a four-year college or university and major in an Agriculture related field. (2) Or you are a child of a parent employed by a farm (farm labor, packing house worker, or parent works as a farm ranch hand, spraying fields etc.) and applicant will be attending a two or four-year College or university.  Read the criteria for each of the following scholarships.  Deadline March 1, 2018.


Tulare County Farm Bureau - Agricultural Career Scholarships

$1,000 – Mary Rankin Memorial Scholarship: for a student pursuing a career in an ag related field at a 2-year college or a 4-year university. 

$1,000 – Frank Ribeiro Memorial Scholarship: for a student pursuing a career in an Ag related field at a 4-year university.

$1,000 – Fred & Marilyn Collison Memorial Scholarship: for a student pursuing a career in an Ag related field at California State University, Fresno.

$1,000 – TCFB Scholarship: for a student pursuing a career in an Ag related field at a

4-year university.

$1,000 – TCFB Young Farmers & Ranchers Scholarship: for a student pursuing a career in an Ag related field at a 4-year university.

$2.500 Ken and Cindy Williams Scholarship: available to a student enrolling at 2 or 4 year college/university and interested in a career in Ag Water technology. Preference give to those in Ag engineering, hydrology, or pumping technologies. Other vocational fields include; Ag construction, mechanics, welding, irrigation technology etc.

$500 Two Year College: for a student planning to major in agriculture at any community college or trade school.

$500 – College of the Sequoias RRS Endowment Scholarship: available for student majoring in an Ag field and will attend COS, priority given to Agri Business and Dairy majors.

Student of Ag Employee Scholarship (children of owner or operator of a farm or ranch not eligible.)  $500 – TCFB Scholarship available for a student who has a parent employed as a farm laborer, ranch hand etc., and will be attending a 2-year or 4-year college/university. Student must list parent’s occupation and employer to be eligible. Deadline March 1, 2018.



The Ray Jones Scholarship Fund is offering five (5), $2,500.00 scholarships to students of California Indian descent who have a minimum GPA of 2.0.  Only one student will receive a $5,000 scholarship; this student must be applying to a four-year college seeking a bachelor’s degree. All students must provide proof of California Indian descent. Deadline March 31, 2018.


California Association of Winegrape Growers Foundation (CAWG) Scholarships is offering at least six scholarships in 2018 to graduating high seniors.  Two 4-year, $8,000 scholarships are available for any campus in the University of California or California State University system and at least four 2-year $2,000 scholarships are available for any two-year California community college. Only children of vineyard workers employed in the 2017 or 2018 wine grape growing season are eligible to apply. Complete the entire application packet and submit a two-page essay (500 words) along with official transcripts. See the Counseling Office for the scholarship application or down an application at cawgfoundation.org.  Postmarked/Deadline March 16, 2018.

In addition to the above mentioned scholarship, the Robert Miller Scholarship for Viticulture and Enology is also available for student on the Central Coast who plans to major in viticulture and/or enology at Cal Poly, SLO or Allan Hancock College. Postmarked/Deadline March 16, 2018.



Tulare County Dairywomen Scholarship Information

Seniors apply if you meet the criteria.  This application has been previously emailed to you.  Deadline March 1, 2018.


  1. The Tulare County Dairy Children Scholarship is awarding scholarships to seniors with a minimum 3.0 GPA. 

A parent must be currently employed on a diary; children of dairy owners are not eligible.


(2) The Tulare County Dairy Women Scholarship is for students interested in a career goal related to the agriculture industry. Applicant must have a minimum 3.0 GPA.



 The 2018 WHS Local Scholarship Application is now available. Don’t miss out on local community clubs, and school and sport organizations scholarships. This fillable scholarship application has been sent via email to all seniors, so check your email!   To be considered for a WHS Local Scholarship, an applicant is required to meet the following criteria.  Students who do not meet all required criteria will not be interviewed and will not be eligible for a WHS Local Foundation Scholarship. Deadline February 23, 2018, 3:30 P.M.  The following is required for the WHS Local Scholarship application:

  • Minimum Weighted Cumulative GPA of 2.5 or higher
  • Plan to attend a 2 or 4 year college, university, private school or trade program in the 2018-2019 academic school year
  • Have completed 85 Youth Service Learning hours and turned in prior to February 23, 2018 by 3:30 p.m. deadline
  • Attend a Scholarship Application Interview in March. (WHS Counseling will contact you with a date and time of your interview)
  • Must include the following items with your application to be eligible or considered

This cover sheet with your signature.

Resume (May use the one from your WHS Portfolio)

1 to 2 page essay that includes educational and personal goals, and need for financial assistance for college.  (When you write about a need for financial assistance please describe any special circumstance that may affect your family’s ability to pay for school medical costs, divorce, unemployment, child support)

1 to 3 letter(s) of recommendation from teachers or community members

  • By May 2018, Submit the following

FAFSA Confirmation Page, form must show Expected Family Contribution (EFC)

Student Aid Report (SAR).  You will receive your SAR via email or mail from Federal Student Aid once you submit your FAFSA and it is processed.

Budget Analysis for the school you plan to attend.  Budget Analysis is attached to this application.


All eligible students in grades 9th - 12th may apply for the American College Foundation ~ Visionary Scholarship Program. If you are interested apply online at: www.AmericanCollegeFoundation.org.  Awards will range from $1,000 to $5,000. Deadline May 1, 2018.
